What Is Daxxify?
Daxxify, or daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm, is a neuromodulator used to reduce fine age lines. It is FDA-approved to treat glabellar lines, or furrows in between the eyebrows. Just like other neuromodulators, it has a number of off-label uses, including the treatment of crow’s feet, horizontal forehead lines, chin wrinkles, and more.
Unlike Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, Daxxify includes long-lasting peptides in its formula, which makes the product last longer. Daxxify can last for six months on average and nine months maximum.
How Does Daxxify Work?
Daxxify puts a pause on muscle movement, which smooths out the wrinkled area. When injected in small controlled amounts into the area for treatment, Daxxify blocks nerve signals to the overworked facial muscles. This prevents the muscle movements that cause fine lines and wrinkles to form. As a result, the skin can relax and lie flat again.
Results from Daxxify injections are visible as early as one to two days after the treatment session.
Am I a Good Candidate for Daxxify?
The best candidates for a Daxxify treatment are individuals who want to get rid of shallow age lines. This treatment is an excellent option for those who want a neuromodulator product that lasts longer than Botox.
Daxxify patients must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for the treatment. Patients must not be allergic to the product. The formula may cause rash, redness, or swelling for some patients.
Daxxify is not safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Please wait until after childbirth before considering the treatment. Daxxify also works best for patients with no active infections. Those with active infections should get treatment first.

Your Daxxify Session
A Daxxify treatment session is very quick and can take only 15 to 20 minutes. The session will begin with cleaning the areas for treatment. After this, topical anesthesia will be administered to make the treatment painless.
Once the anesthesia has taken effect, Daxxify will be injected into the areas for treatment. For glabellar lines, each patient is recommended to have 40 units of Daxxify per treatment. Eight units will be injected during each intramuscular injection.
Daxxify Aftercare
There is no recovery time needed for a Daxxify treatment. You can continue your day-to-day activities right after the session.
Avoid touching or massaging the treated area. Do not engage in strenuous activities for at least 12 hours; this will help the formula work its full benefits and achieve the best results.
Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages for at least 24 hours, since alcohol can promote swelling or bruising at the injection sites.
