As with Botox® Cosmetic, LATISSE™ was first used as a medical treatment. It wasn’t until after its use medically did Allergan discover its cosmetic benefits! LATISSE™ was first approved in 2001 as a medical product to treat Glaucoma. Through its medical use, one of the side effects was eyelash growth. The long term safety of this product for medical use has been recognized by the medical community and well established based on long term use and years of clinical trials.
