Anesthesia: General
Location of operation: Hospital or surgery center
Length of surgery: 2-3 hours.
Discomfort: Moderate to severe. Anticipate 7-14 days of prescription pain medication
Swelling: Will peak in 3 days. Improves in 2-4 weeks.
Bandages: Will be removed in 1-2 days
Stitches: Will be removed in 7-10 days
Support: Compression wraps must be worn continously for 4-6 weeks.
Work: Most can return to work in 7-14 days, if you have stopped taking prescription pain medication. If your job requires lifting, you should wait 4-6 weeks
Driving: May be resumed after you have stopped taking prescription pain medication
Exercise: May be resumed in 6 weeks
Final result: Will be seen after swelling has fully subsided, which will be in 4-6 months
